cannot record anything with out a monthly subscription

Purchased a floodlight vmc2030 to link to my Arlo 2 pro system.  I cannot record anything with out a monthly subscription. My intent was to connect to my hub to record. Does anyone know if I can do this?  I bought Arlo to abound monthly subscription fees.

If you purchase a VMB4540 or VMB5000 smarthub, you could use direct access to local storage:

Many folks here do use this feature instead of a subscription - though personally I think it's a rather poor substitute.

The limitations include:

• recordings only available in the app, not the browser
• recordings only available using the primary account (not friend accounts)
• no ability to make manual recordings or snapshots
• no thumbnails (even in notifications) - videos need to be downloaded to the phone to view.
• remote access requires router setting changes that some find difficult, and which don't work with some internet service providers.
