I've already wasted money trying two other wireless systems, Black LabelCam and Zmodo and had difficulties connecting to and/or maintaining a wifi connection. What makes your sytem any better?

The WiFi is strictly between the camera and base and has nothing to do with your home WiFi. You can use a powerline or WiFi extender to position the base for better connections to all cameras or add additionals bases for unusual cases.
