Why can't Arlo Pro 2 take normal AA batteries?

why cant they come up with a battery pack for arlo pro 2 that takes normal double aa batteries,,i have a weather station that lasts throughout the bitter cold here in saskatchewan that takes double aa batteries and it never goes down,,i use cosco batteries and change them once a year.
