Hi
I have the Arlo Pro2 with the VMB4000r3 Base Station. I have been very happy with the free 7-day recording and have no need for more. Frankly 1-2 days would be enough anyhow. I would like to add couple of more cameras but the Arlo Pro 2 add-on cameras are not available anymore. Which cameras should I buy to retain the free 7-day recording with all of my cameras also in the future?

A used Pro 2 is probably your best option. All the newer cameras (starting with the Ultra in 2018) require a subscription for cloud storage.
