VMB4000 randomly restarts. Goes fine but restarts every hour. Tried removing and re-adding.

Hi! I'm not sure if I'm the only one struggling with the Arlo Pro2 Base Station (VMB4000) but my system goes offline several times a day making the cameras unavailable (today, for example I've tried to access the cameras about 15 times and only were able to load them 5, the rest they were offline) and after a while the system auto-resets. Immediately after the restart the system starts working "fine" for some minutes (usually no more than an hour) and the issue happen again. I've confirmed both Pro 2 cameras are within range, and all the system is running on the latest firmware. My internet connection is stable, since all my other devices are working well, I've tried removing and re-adding all the devices unsuccessfully. I've tried removing the local storage as suggested on a similar post without any success.

Any hints are appreciated

Thanks

You could try power cycling the base station twice daily to see if it behaves better. If it does then install a smart switch on the power to the base and setup a schedule to power cycle using the smart switch’s App.

Is this a known issue? I'm wondering if it may be a hardware problem of the base station. Do you know by any chance if upgrading the base station to VMB5000 may solve the issue, or this happens to all base stations?

Thanks!

Base stations do sometimes go off-line, and often there is no good explanation as to why.  One of my VMB5000s has gone off line a couple of times over the past 4 months or so.

You shouldn't be seeing this happening daily (as you apparently are).  Plus in my own experience the base station doesn't recover on its own - you need to manually restart it.  Do you have any evidence that your home internet service is flakely?

One option here is to contact support:  https://www.arlo.com/en-us/support/contact.aspx  If the base is under warranty, ask for a replacement.
