I have multiple Pro 2 cameras I'm working on transitioning off of battery to solar charging. I've found when using the cable that came with the panel the camera is able to consistently keep charged when positioned in an area that gets direct sunlight. However, some of my cameras are on a side of my house that doesn't get enough direct sunlight. To troubleshoot this I've moved the panel to a good position and then ran a 50 ft generic USB cable (not available through Arlo) across the house to the position of the camera. I've found that this not only doesn't charge, but it seems to drain the battery even faster than before.
I'm pretty sure the problem is my USB cable isn't a big enough gauge to support carrying the charge this distance. Is there a better USB cable I can use to handle this? How are others handling cameras that need to be in shady areas that they want to move to solar?
