As of the most recent "update" around November 2024 I can no long record to local usb storage. Prior to the update recording to local storage worked fine and I was able to view them while on my local network. Keep in mind that I do not have a subscription as I was tired of the constant annual increase just to get "features" that were free for the first 30 days. I am okay with not having cloud storage or not being able to retrieve videos while off network because I had the security of knowing that if something happened I had a video of it on my smart hub. Since this update I am unable to record anything or retrieve those that were previously recorded. Sure I can no unplug the USB storage and plug it into my computer to view recordings prior to November 20th but since then the smart hub just seems to be a brick. Oh but on the app I do now get the popup that informs me "You found a premium feature."
I have never really been happy with the delay in recording when zones were setup or the inability to configure the duration of the recording but now my frustration level has hit an all time high as noted by this post.
Buyer beware and if you are not wanting another annual subscription stay away from this product.

What do you see if you
- go to the devices screen
- select the base station
- select storage settings ?
Also, what version of the app do you have? The newest should give you "Local" and "Cloud" controls on the feed page.

App version was 5.2.2 released on Nov. 14, 2024, I just updated to version 5.3.2.
Storage Settings shows the Record Locally switch On and show recordings from Nov. 20th on back. Going into Local Storage Settings shows a storage status of Good with 2GB used of 58GB. All switches are on except Port Forwarding.

Try restarting the base (might not help, but easy to try). Then see if new recordings show up.

Have you tried factory reseting the smart hub and testing the local storage again?
