H3 cameras, 1.125.17.1_11 firmware. on OS14.8
The cameras have stopped recording, or even noticing motion. Battery levels are good, and if I go in front of the camera and hit the play button on the screen, it will see the motion but still not record it. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

Dannybear: Thanks for the input. Here's what happened. I charged both cams to 100% (the solar panels died a long time ago). Managed to get both cams to recognize a motion detection test and got an amber flash from both. However, neither cam will record automatically. I can press the play arrow on each iPhone window and can see motion through it, but it will only record if I hit the red record button on the screen. How do I get them to record when they see motion again?
Also, one other odd thing: both cams were installed at the same time, about 3 years ago, but one's Device Info says "H3" and the other says "H4." Same firmware numbers, though. Any idea why? Thank you.

You should have a mode page where you can set a mode configuration to cause events.
The mode usually used is “armed” which has been pre-populated with camera rules to detect and record etc.
You should firstly try toggling the armed and disarmed buttons and then check if the cameras will trigger notifications and recordings.
You can also check and edit the armed mode camera rules.

The camera h3/4 info is just the hardware revision which is unrelated to the camera model number.

it sounds like the OP wasn't using the ARMED mode...

Learning the purpose of the mode feature. Thx. A lot of Arlo's functionality and UX isn't what I'd consider intuitive.

TomMac: That is correct, I wasn't properly using the Armed mode. As I indicated to DannyBear, a lot of Arlo's functionality and UX isn't what I'd consider intuitive. Thx.

How can I schedule an Arlo 2 for specific on/off times? I go to Mode and it only offers me access to the base station. I'd like to have this particular cam turn off at 9 am and turn on a 11 pm. Thank you.

Step 1: Create a custom mode that includes all the other cameras, but does not have a rule for the camera you want to turn off.
Step 2: Create a schedule that uses the custom mode from step 1 between 9 am and 11 pm. Use the armed mode between 11 pm and 1159pm, and between midnight and 9 am. (you can't schedule across midnight, so you need to entries to go from 11 pm to 9 am).
The key to this is understanding that
- you schedule modes, not cameras
- a mode always controls all cameras paired to the base
- a mode disarms any camera that isn't included in the rules for the mode.

New issue: Both cams are showing "Your Arlo device appears offline." The base station is lit but not flashing. How to troubleshoot and rectify? Thanks.

What are the LEDs showing on the base station, if you lost the base station communications then all cameras will show offline as well as the base station in the app.

Went to the browser interface (so odd that Arlo app and browser are mutually exclusive). Under My Devices are 2 base stations, both sho.w disconnected and one has a red circlular icon

The centre led (internet) if not illuminated indicates that the Ethernet port connection has failed.
- The base Ethernet port is faulty. Try power cycling base.
- The router port has failed. Try power cycling the router.
- Ethernet cable broken or slightly ajar at one end. Replace cable or reseat connectors.
If the led was amber then your connected to the router but internet is missing.

Regards the web portal my devices page showing two base station devices, the first is the base station itself and the second is the base station siren as a device.
I usually rename the siren to say it the siren to remove confusion but the web portal edit function for the siren is broken so you can’t change it anymore.

Regards the HTML error, I get that also using iPhone, just you typing to fast for the website auto save to catch-up.
You will find that when typing a long speech the text entry slows down and begins to misbehave. You have to keep it short and sweet.

First, thanks for the help. Always appreciated. Restarts got the cams and base station and mesh nodes synched again. (I now have them all on a single master switch.) Second:
...but the web portal edit function for the siren is broken so you can’t change it anymore.
Arlo seems to be breaking itself as it goes along.

Yes, it does edit the name but it alters the base name instead.
In the mobile app they removed the siren device from the my devices list so you can’t edit the name at all.
