Not picking up sounds

I currently have the Arlo Pro 2 video camera set up in the backyard. I cannot get the camera to record sounds when the dog next door is barking. It has been barking like crazy sometimes at 2am for the past 6 months and I am hoping to show the HOA proof, however I have to manually record the videos for them to save. The camera picks up the sound when I watch it live, and I can hear it clearly when I manually record but it won’t automatically do it.

Is there a setting that I need to change or any suggestions as to why the camera is not automatically recording this?

Have you got your rule set up to record on audio trigger? Is the audio sensitivity set to maximum?
