So I read that Netgear has sold Arlo. Do you have an opinion if this is good or bad for us end users?

I wouldn't say NETGEAR have "sold" Arlo. Reports are NETGEAR intends to spin-out Arlo as a separate business and raise capital through an IPO for less than 20% of the stock. NETGEAR will retain majority ownership of Arlo.

I've seen cameras advertised here (Australia)  in the last few days under another brand that look identical to Arlo Pro 2 cameras so it seems like the rumor is true.

The plans to spin out Arlo as a separate business were publicly announced, so there is no rumour.

It is very unlikely they would change the brand name from Arlo.

Please post a link to this other product so we can see it.

Thanks.
