Tomorrow I'll be switching from battery to AC/DC power adapter. Will I have to resync camera to base station? If so, must I keep camera a few inches away from base station like when I first synced with batteries inside?

No. I do this all the time.
When the camera powers up it will look for the base station and reconnect.
