Are both in a similar setup with refective surfaces ??
The only thing I can think of ( other then a possible defect , but don't think so ) is the IR lighting reflecting off of the side plants/trees causing a bright reflective surface... Not only does it make the remainder of the scene darker ( due to iris change ) but also MAY be turning off the IR lights thinking it's not dark enough.

Thank you so much for your thoughts, that makes sense. However I have ensured there are no branches in its view and also have the camera set to 40 percent sensitivity. Though your idea makes sense as it only happens at night? Stangely though, I have had them up now for 2 months and only the last couple of nights it has happened?

This is a similar video on the fence that has no surrounding reflective items? The only thing that the cameras had in common is that they both had under 20 percent battery? Another issue is that the cameras are continually detecting motion (both cameras set to 40 percent sensitivity) and record for long period of times, (sometimes up to 6 minutes) with nothing to show ?

This is one of the many recordings that lasted for over 4 minutes with no motion even though it was detected???
It gets quite annoying when it goes off many times at all hours of the morning for no reason.
