I have plugged a Kingston adapter with a SanDisk Ultra 32GB Micro SD card into USB port 1 and although it recognises it, formatting it does nothing.

It just returns to the '"Requires Formatting" state.

Are only certain adapters/memory sticks compatible?

Another bug?

I have removed it from USB 1 and connected it to USB 2.

Yet it sill shows as formatting on USB 1.

Not sure what's going on but have you power cycled the base? Maybe it's gotten confused somehow.

Edit: Just noticed you said you're using a microSD card. Others have reported issues using a card reader rather than a thumb drive.

As a PS...attempt to format it in the PC as Fat32  and then place into base unit

It looks like it didn't like the adapter/reader.

I replaced it with a USB flash drive and it's working now.
