Local recording to a USB connected to VMB4500

Trying record to local library, USB, connected to VMB4500. Cannot access library or local recordings. Is it true you cannot do this using the vmb4500. I was able to format the usb, but can't find it to look at any reco

Manual recordings or snapshots are not available on local backup storage, only to the arlo cloud storage.

Viewing access to the backup storage device is possible using the vmb4540, vmb5000 smarthubs from the mobile app with limitations.

Thanks, unfortunatly your answer is correct and l cannot record locally,  need a different base station.
