I know the Arlo Pro base is "compatible" with the Arlo Ultra camera, but is there any advantage to buying a new Arlo Ultra base? Does it do anything better with the Arlo Ultra camera than the Arlo Pro base does?

With the additional hardware I should probably buy an Ultra base when I buy the Ultra cameras. Thanks.

Actually, none of the earlier bases are currently compatible with the Ultra camera - it will take a firmware update to make it so. Don't know when that will be available.
I'd suggest reading through the Ultra product literature to see the differences. The Ultra base has extra hardware for other smart home integrations as well as a lack of siren and USB ports (it uses a microUSB card instead).
