I use Seagate 500GB ex HHD connect to the base station, but can't format via the system. The HDD is normal to use in window / mac OS. I try to format in different type (exFat, NTFS, Fat32) but also fair to format via the system in arlo base station. Then, I use the 8GB USB drive and success to backup offline.

There are certain incompatibilities between Arlo and drives that have occurred. If your drive is formatted via your computer as FAT32 but won't work when connected to the base, all you can try is a different USB cable. Is the drive powered with external power or via the USB cable? If the latter, that could be an issue (the hub isn't supplying enough current).
I much prefer to use a 32-64GB thumb drive instead of a hard drive - much easier to work with and much smaller.
