I would like to connect a camera in my guest house to the wifi network there. It's too far to reach the base station in my house. Would this work, and if so what type of camera should I buy for this functionality

The Pro and Pro2 cameras connect to the WIFI the base station broadcasts, not your home wifi.
So your options are to move the base station closer to the camera (if possible) or install a 2nd base station. The 2nd base station should connect back to the same network via some form of network extender. (cat 5, or an wireless solution like mesh wifi or range extenders.
