Hi I’m hoping someone can help here. I use the Pro 2 in my NY Apt and love it’s simplicity and the ability to remote monitor. I also have a place in Australia that has no internet and not even any cell phone coverage so remote monitoring is not an option but I have had some break in problems recently so I need some sort of camera based solution. I have plenty of solar power available and there is no reason I can’t set up a router to create local wifi but it will have no connection to the internet I would like to put wifi based cameras in the trees so running cables isn’t ideal but I would like to record any activity on a local hard drive inside the cabin so I don’t have to keep climbing trees to check individual memory cards. I know Arlo unit has option for local HDD back up but if I pre configure all the cameras etc while I’m in internet range can I just run the whole system with only local storage or does anyone know of a product to support this concept ie wifi camera connectivity with local image storage? Probably an unusual use case I guess Thanks very much

Use of a USB drive will record but no access until you're physically present to extract the drive to read on a computer. You would have no ability whatsoever to amange the system remotely. It's a cloud-based system.

Could satellite internet in the Outback home be an option?
I know there’s a turnaround delay involved but maybe someone can comment if it can work.
