The arlo pro 2 cameras will only work if they are right beside the base. I have spend months trying to get them to work. I thought the batterys were all broken because the cameras only worked when plugged in. Is it to do with the wifi? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Do the cameras work ok at a distance when external power is applied?

Ensure that the Base station is at least 6ft from your local wifi router else they may interfere.

Hey, no the cameras only work If they are pretty much touching the base. I have an ethernet cable that is about 20m away from the router that is connected to the base. Thanks for your reply

If all cameras behave like this you may have a faulty base station. The wifi module in the base could be faulty so you have no range. If it is just a single camera then the camera wifi module could be faulty instead.

You can try resetting the camera by pulling the battery for 10sec.

You can try power cycling the Base station to do a reset.

As a last resort:

A factory reset of the base station using a paper clip and holding the rear reset button for 15sec or until the Base LEDs begin flashing. You should remove the base station from your account firstly, then waiting for the factory reset is completed before adding back to your account.

Thanks for your reply. I have tried all of your suggestions. It's still not working. Maybe It is a faulty base station. The arlo cameras worked well for 2 years then they were in storage for 6 months before we moved house.

To progress fault finding,

try taking the system to another residence to eliminate your location as a factor.

@DanYDani - if you use an Android phone, you could also install one of several free apps that can measure the strength of wifi signals.  Then you could compare the signal strength of the base with the signal strength of the router.

Unfortunately these apps aren't available for iPhones.  But there are some out there that will work on a PC.  Netspot is one I've used.
