I had a functioning system with the 4000 base station, cameras (5s), and older cameras. It worked for years. I updated to the 4540 basestation, and now i cant add the basestation. I removed the 4000 basestation for the upgrade, but now cant add it back either. After hours of turn off/restart, tech support call, even a new 4540 station from Arlo, I still cant add the basestation in the app or web interface.
The app/web interface fails to detect any basestation now. All connected as it was before, when it was working. All i can think of is a software update that may have bricked it, or something. I can see the bases on wifi, and they are internet accessible on the router. Any suggestions appreciated.

Is a VPN in use? If so, disable it for setup. You can also try a reset on the base or hub to see if that works. If that fails, what are the LED(s) on the base or hub showing? The 4000 should show green power and Internet and the Camera LED off or solid amber. The 4540 should have a solid blue LED.

Hi All,
No VPN in use. Reset done to Hub, no change. Reset to router, no change.
All updated Arlo app, no change. Updated router firmware, no change.
Called ISP: no blocking of ports 123, 443, 80 since a prior thread suggested this was an issue in singapore (this setup is in USA).
LED is solid blue on the 4540, three greens on the old 4000. Arlo support can see the basestation connected.
Other arlo cameras that use router only (not the basestation) working normally.
I even tried putting the basestation in the DMZ, no change. Tried port forwarding, no change.
Thanks

3 green LEDs on the 4000 means it's still in your account. Make sure you deleted it from your account before trying again. You may want to also hold the reset button for 10 seconds or so until the LEDs flash amber. Let it reboot to green power and Internet LEDs and try adding it again. Of course, the fact that support can see the 4000 in your account may be the issue which other owners have encountered before. Do you use Library to view recordings or Feed? The current app supports both interfaces and you may need to migrate to the new one (Feed) to get things working. If you choose to do so, there's no going back and you'll need to learn the new interface and check it to make sure things work the way they should.

As for the 4540, the blue LED means it's connected to the servers. Once again the new interface may be the answer but I can't be sure - there's no reason it doesn't work with the old one.

Hi All,
After cycles of resetting, turning cameras off and on, etc, the 4000 series is green light for power, green light for internet, and orange for camera. No cameras are currently on, prior support call suggested eliminating wifi sources for possible interference.
Support saw the 4540 on the router, but not in the account.
Each unit has been reset many times. Unable to add any basestation; basestations are on, seen by router, emitting WIFI as expected.
There are no basestations in the account now, via app or web interface. Unable to add any of the stations. Tried different phones with the app, no success. App is current version (6.1.0 (9549) from May 24, 2025.
Also called my ISP they report no ports are blocked, no firewalling.
Fiber internet, 465 Mbps download, 436Mbps upload.
On the 3rd tech support call currently.
