Hi does anyone else have problems getting their base station to connect  to their iPhone when the base station is connected to the internet.

If I read  your question correctly ... You CAN NOT directly connect your iphone to the base's wif network.

The wifi network made by the base is for Arlo products only. Nothing else will connect and there is no password to the base wifi.

To be clear, nothing actually connects to your phone - it connects to your account via the Arlo servers. The phone app is just an interface into your account.

WHich base do you have? Look for a label on the bottom that has VMBxxxx. Is this a new install or has the base been connected before? Did you remove it from your account and/or reset it by holding the button for >10 seconds until we the LED(s) flashed amber? If you reset it, you also need to remove it from your account before you can add it back. What are the LED(s) showing, including color?

I’m having the same problem with my Arlo pro 2 system. I upgraded to a new iPhone and loaded the latest Arlo app. I’ve tried every suggestion listed under troubleshooting and the app will not recognize or connect to my base station. I know the base station and cameras are set up correctly because my wife - on the old app version - is still connected and it’s working fine.

I suspect the newer app version does not support that older system. I’ll be pretty steamed if that’s the case.

The current apps support all systems, even the original/oldest ones. However, since some/many of the legacy cameras are EOL, support may be waning. Some folks with the older base stations are experiencing issues although those issues seem to be solvable.

Are you the primary user (the one who set up the system) or were you granted access? If the latter, both accounts need to be on the same interface (the apps support both the old and new interfaces so it's not the app itself).

That helped me a ton. You were correct that my wife was set up as the primary user with me as secondary. She updated her phone to the new app version and then shared access with me. I accepted the email invitation and now I’m back in business.
Thank you for your help!
