Arlo Pro 2 cameras at nighttime doesn’t detect motion until about 3 feet from it even though set at high. Also no kind of white light/spotlight like shown in pictures and description comes on at all. Please help. Fixing to return.

Camera positioning is important. Make sure the camera isn't too high on the house (~7 feet is recommended) and that you're not trying to see the whole world. Tilt it down so you only get the area of interest, remembering that people detection tops out at about 25 feet. Make sure you're setting the sensitivity in your modes and rules, not the motion test.
And there is not spotlight of any sort on a Pro 2. That's on the Pro 3 and Ultra cameras.
