Says ready to format but then stops after it starts saying it cannot format the device. Can’t format FAT32 on PC because Windows 10 limited to other formats.

I have noticed that it is not possible to format drives larger than 32GB on the base station with the newest firmware.  This is just a warning for everyone who googles this problem.  Also, since windows prohibits formatting fat32 drives larger than 32GB, you will have to use a third party formatting tool to do so if you wish to use a larger drive.

FWIW,  you can format larger drives with fat32 w/o a third party tool - but you do need to use the windows command prompt.  Run it as administrator.  The command is

Format /FS:FAT32 X:

Use the actual actual drive letter of course.
