we are having issues with one of our Por 2 cameras, battery was low so we installed a fully charged one and on the app got the message it was off line. we have pulled the battery and waited up to 10 minutes, installed another charged battery, pulled the camera down brought in the house placed it next to the base with no luck. so we uninstalled the camera and now we can not get it to sync to the base. once you install the battery the LED starts flashing blue/amber for about 30 seconds then stops after 15 - 20 seconds it starts flashing the same blue/amber, we have tried different batteries we have tried it with it plugged into the a/c charger, we have let it sit over night thinking it was trying to update, we have let it sit over night with the battery out. nothing is working. is there a fix for this or is it just junk now?

Any help would be appreciated.

This would be so much easier if Arlo just had a tech help line where you could talk to a person!

Have you tried with both the app and a PC browser (my.arlo.com)

Have you tried pressing the base station top button for 2sec to activate search mode, then pressing the camera top sync button for 2sec to activate sync mode?

Yes we have followed the instructions step by step several times, you do not even have to push the sync button on the camera for it to start flashing the blue/amber, just a few seconds after you install the battery it starts flashing. you can hold the button for two seconds or five minutes and nothing changes, it will continue flashing blue/amber for about 20 seconds then off for about 10 seconds and repeats till you pull the battery.

What you have described suggests that the camera is stuck in a firmware update condition. It’s possible that the battery went flat during a firmware update although it shouldn’t be allowed if the battery is low.

This is indeed strange since the pro2 cameras have not had a firmware update released for several months. I could speculate here what arlo is up to since reading similar reports but would not be productive.

There is no factory reset publication that I have read that will work for the pro2 cameras, only a reset which is to remove the battery and external power for 10sec.

You could try the battery recovery process below as a final last ditch effort. Although the battery is no longer flat the camera may need to be somehow told it is ok to start charging it.

May I suggest at this point you consider the camera to be bricked. If the camera is still within warranty you can approach arlo customer support for replacement.

Alternatively Look for a direct model  replacement so you maintain the legacy 7days free cloud storage as newer model cameras incur a subscription plan requirement for cloud storage.
