What is the optimal range of the base unit to properly communicate with 6 cameras.? In that regards, does the base unit communication range depend on the unit itself or does it utilize the reach of my WiFi set up. which it is connected to? the reason for my question is that I plan to use the cameras in different locations within a 3 acre area. In that area I have good WiFi set up and coverage, so can I rely on that coverage for Pro 2 connection, or do I need to add more base stations? if so, what will my limitation be , if any?

The range of the base unit to cameras is very dependant on what your home is like and how many walls the signals go thru ( just like normal wifi ) max clear signal range is listed at 300ft. ... in/thru home maybe 100ft

The base sets up it's own wifi network for the cameras ( and other arlo items ) ONLY.

Your own wifi network has nothing to do with it if your running a base other than the base hooks into the ethernet .

Arlo Q cameras, btw, do hook into your home wifi and don't use base units.

If you planning to run over a large area, you'll need multi bases. *( there is no limit on the number of bases, but only on the max number of cameras on your service level ) As example; for basic service ( free ) limit is 5 cameras... you could run 3 bases and a total of 5 cameras.

The only real way to expand your coverage is using multi bases.
