Arlo Pro 2 and solar panel installation

Has anyone had problems installing the Arlo mounting bracket in the tripod mount with the solar panel connector attached?  The connector for the solar panel protrudes a little from the camera and then I can't screw the bracket into the tripod mount.  If I install the bracket first, I can't install the cable. I'm figuring I'm not doing something right...... (I'm using the VMA 1000 outdoor mount)

There are 1/4"-20 extenders your local hardware store may carry to make the threaded part stick out further. The outdoor mounts with a solar panel or outdoor power supply can be a problem.
