Good Morning
I have Arlo Pro 2 in place (indoor) and would like to charge the cams (I left the battery inside cam) via a PowerBank (Adata PowerPack P20000D). Charging works fine so far - battery status of cam show 100% with a lightning symbol.
Here is the problem:
I use my cams ONLY for live video, when I connect to it. No motion detection, nothing. So basically if nobody is connected, no power should be used. This worked fine so far. Now I connected the Powebank (20000mAh) to the full loaded battery of the cam. Within 10 hours 20% of the Powerbank is gone although nobody connected to the cam! This is more mAh than the whole battery of the cam has. Do you know what is wrong here?
My assumption is that if the cam is connected to a power source it uses much more / permanent power for any reason.
Or do you think this is a powerbank issue?
Did anybody make the same experience and/or have an idea how I can fix this?
Thanks for any hints and replies.
Kind regards
Michi

Not sure that I follow what is charging what here.
An indoor camera is best charged/powered with a straightforward USB adapter (but see below).
You can either leave the battery in the camera of take it out.
My experience is that the camera will happily do live video and respond to triggers. (Live video will disable the triggers.)
Remember, though, the Arlo charger/power supply is a fast-charge adapter that delivers 9 volts as well as the standard USB 5 volt.
Like solar panels, your PowerBank may well recharge your Arlo battery but it will not be a substitute for "mains" power.

Thanks for your reply.
Let me ask it a bit shorter to make it clear what I would like to know.
Has an Arlo cam a higher power consumption when plugged in to a power source compared to battery only mode (while using same functions)?

Unlikely, but given the 5-volt/9-volt thing, it may be the wrong question.

I am not quite sure if it really matters how long charging takes (9V vs 5V) in regards of the overall consumption (mAh used).
But maybe I am wrong.
