Arlo Pro 2 Doesnt detect Motion beyond 7 feet

I have an Arlo Pro 2 two camera system, I tried every way of installing/ resetting base, 
The motion detection doesnt go beyong 7 feet, camera is installed at a hieght of 8 feet from my deck
The customer support says base station should be atleast 10 feet from camera, which house would be less that 16 feet in length to support that? I think these cameras are good only for indoor motion detection.
Even at 5 feet sometimes my camera doesnt detect motion
Secondly how do I enable 24x7 video recording?

Have you tried to increase the sense level in the Mode ??

For 24/7 recording, you need to power the camera with ac and buy the CVR option.... these are "motion detect then record" cameras for a set time

Thanks, Yes I tried increasing sensitivity , but nothing helps, 

Thats not good they force us to buy all these plans, never advertise it clearly that theres no free 24x7 recording.
