I would like to have my cameras continue to record if anything enters the regular frame of view but I would like a push notification if someone enters an activity zone while on battery power. Is this something that could be added?
It shouldn't require much of a change on the software side other than a simple logic if check to see if someone enters the activity zone while it is doing it's normal recording when someone enters the view. I'm asking for arlo to make an update for this kind of functionality to the existing software.

I think you're asking about Arlo Smart which an additional subscription. There are FAQs here on how Smart works.

That is not quite what I'm talking about. The arlo smart plan does person, animal, vehicle detection. I just want the existing zone detection to work with my battery power but to run as normal and just only notify me if something goes into the zone. It should require constant checking or anything like what other posts require. It should just be a simple logic check when the video is already recording

That's what Smart is supposed to do. It will always record and the server post-processing will determine if the recording id due to something in zone and try to figure out what that subject is.

You're missing the point. They already offer activity zones on the basic plan but it only works if you're plugged into your house. They should make it work on the battery and just use the existing motion detection and just add some simple logic into it where it will only send a push notification if someone enters the activity zone you set. This should require almost no extra power consumption which is the excuse I've seen why they dont do it on battery which is total BS.

Again, that's exactly why Smart exists. To be able to use zones otherwise requires that the camera constantly streams so a decision can be made by the camera/base as to whether detection should be made. That would wear down the battery quickly, hence the need for AC power.  PIR sensors can't differentiate by themselves.
