Can somebody tell me why you have to plug-in the Arlo Pro 2 cameras to get the Activity zones to work ?

Zones require more power to analyze the video stream for pixel changes and would run the battery down too quickly..

OK thanks. Just running into issues with everything setting off the motion detection. It’s kind of annoying.

Moving or re-aiming the camera might help. You can also change sensitivity. My cameras are set to 80% sensitivity and rarely record unless something is there. Look through the Arlo FAQs. There is a section on optimizing motion detection.
