Activity Zone Error On Arlo Pro 2

I have set up new activity zones in my Arlo Pro 2 but it will not activate and I get an error message saying it needs to be connected to AC power to work. In the instructions I see nothing about this and have followed all the steps

Do I have to have the camera on cabel to get the activity zones to work??? I thought I had bought a wireless camera...

There's two ways to get zones. One is to use AC power since the camera has to be streaming constantly to be able to identify motion in the zones (uses the PIR sensor to detect motion and then the pixel detection to determine if it's in the zone). The other is to subscribe to Smart which uses post-processing on the servers to determine motion so works on battery-only cameras.
