Able to set everything up but shows offline?

Hi y’all.

I just got the Arlo Pro 2 as a gift. I am setting it up but every time I set up my base station every thing goes well (it does take 5 mins to get past the update firmware stage where it finds no update) it says it’s connected. Then when I go back to the main screen of the app it tells me my base station is offline. The base station it self has the blue light steady on.

Any suggestions?

Are you using a VPN at any point? Have you rebooted the base as well as the phone?

No VPN on the network and I have restarted both the base station (I also reset it manually) and my phone. I am truly perplexed.

Was this a pre-owned system?  If so, you might want to double-check that the base+cameras were removed from the original owner's account.

Nope, brand new system. Had to take the plastic wrap off of everything. Had to charge up the brand new batteries for the cameras, all paper materials and cords were all factory wrapped. It's out of warranty of course.

Might be worth confirming that.  It was purchased new after all.

 

The warranty only applies if you purchased from Arlo or an authorized reseller.  So that could get in your way.
