How do I turn my Arlo camera on or off?

You can switch your Arlo camera off through the Arlo Secure App.

You can also turn your Arlo camera off by removing the battery or unplugging the power cord from the outlet.

When you switch a camera off in the Arlo Secure App, the camera goes into a low power state that does not allow recording or live streaming.

You can also use Modes and Rules to stop the camera from recording or detecting motion without turning the camera off.

To turn a camera off in the Arlo Secure App:

For the Arlo Secure App with Feed:

  1. Launch the Arlo Secure App.
  2. Tap Devices.
  3. Tap Settings icon.
  4. Tap the Device On switch to move the switch to the off position.

  1. Launch the Arlo Secure App.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap My Devices.
  4. Select your camera.
  5. Tap Device On switch to move the switch to the off position.

You can also turn the camera off by removing the power source:

For battery-powered cameras such as the Arlo Ultra series, Arlo Pro series, Arlo Go series, and Arlo Wire-Free Cameras, simply remove the batteries from the cameras. For wired cameras, such as Arlo Essential Indoor, Arlo Q, and Arlo Q Plus, unplug the AC power adapter from the wall outlet.

  1. Press the button next to the charging port underneath the camera.
  2. A clicking sound occurs and the camera slides partially out of the camera housing.
  3. Pull the camera out until it is entirely removed from the camera housing.
  4. Remove the battery by pulling it until it slides out of the camera.
