Desktop Progressive Web App (PWA)

I'm a software developer who has recently been working on developing a progressive web app (PWA), which is a little-known technology that allows a website to be "installed" onto a device to give additional permissions and look-and-feel of a native app.

After logging into the Arlo website to view my cameras, I thought it would be a great fit for a PWA that could be installed on Windows or Mac that would allow all the great features a PWA provides, such as a start-menu shortcut, chrome-less navigation, etc... It would feel like an installed desktop application with very little development necessary. From what I could see, there would be only a few small code snippets (a simple manifest and serviceworker) necessary to be added to the website in order to get at least a proof-of-concept up and running.

Many large companies have embraced this technology/concept, such as Starbucks (https://app.starbucks.com/) and Spotify (https://app.starbucks.com/)

I think this would be a great benefit as it seems like there is a desire for an installed native desktop app. I, myself would love to have it open in it's own window outside of the browser while I work.

Thanks for listening!
