Hi,

In the UK there is a full broadband fibre rollout underway to many homes. Our Internet Service Provider, (Sky TV) has finished that to our house, and I am now aware that the Router, ( with its new IP address) transmits WIFI on both 2.4 & 5ghz.

So what !?

I'm interested in if this below  will also be a problem for a potential replacement Arlo system ?

The Issue :-

he Amazon Blink Sync unit steadfastly refuses to connect or remain stable with that 5ghz 'option' present on the Network. Support was really poor, and from my own research in the end, I worked out that for the Router I would need to turn off syncing, and create two SSIDs one for each frequency.

That isn't something I'm going to do, as several similar 'black box' devices, (home heating, utility usage monitors) all just needed only a reboot & their Apps pointed at the new WiFi.

I'm therefore in the market for a new CCTV system, will the Arlo systems connect to my Router straight out of

Hi @PaulKentUK

Thanks for reaching out!

Arlo does have devices that connect directly to your wifi router without the need for a Smart Hub.

I'll link you to the Arlo shop in your region here

Also, here is a list of Devices/SKUs that connect directly to the WiFi router or have that capability, so you can take a look to see if you find anything that fits your needs.

Additionally, I'll pass this info on to the appropriate team so someone can reach out to you.

Please let me know if you have any other questions, and I'll be happy to assist.
