I recently purchased a home with Arlo cameras previously installed. It was suggested that I purchase a new hub to allow me to access the existing cameras and establish monthly service. I cannot get any useful data from Arlo customer support on the type of equipment they have on file for my current home...i.e., model number of the existing equipment; what products/other equipment may/may not be missing?; how can we decode the Smart Home door locks?...and essentially, how can I actually utilize the system that's already here??? I was told that billing has begun on my account, but I am unable to effectively set it up. I am a senior citizen, and I do not have the ability to climb ladders to try to determine make/model numbers, change batteries (if needed), etc. Can someone please direct me to the proper resource to help with this very important security matter?! Thanks (so much) in advance...

You can not set up the cameras unless they are off the previous owners account. They would need to remove those cameras and then you can add them to your account. However, the cameras and the basestation would need to be reset before it can be added to your account. Which would mean you would have to be able to access the cameras.

Thank you for the response. So, if I am unable to contact the previous owner - who may or may not have removed all the existing cameras here at the property - and I have setup a new account (and purchased a new Arlo base unit) what happens now? Does that mean all the existing camera equipment, my new account, and recently purchased equipment are unusable? Please respond...thanks.

Existing cameras need to be imported into your account. If you aren't sure if it previous owner did that, there is no harm in just trying to install it. But you do need to know the camera models. FWIW, I do recommend re-mounting the cameras in spots where you can reach them.
New equipement can just be installed.

No idea. Arlo doesn't sell smart locks, and has no support for them in the app.
