While i like all the other Arlo products and have quite a few of them, i have a big issue with the al-in-one sensors falsely detecting motion. On a prior trip after 'office' detecting motion the police came by to find nothing. A day later a similar experience with the 'billiard' detected motion which i ignored.

I emailed support @Arlo.com never got a reply.

Thinking it could be some sun/daylight issue i switched both to 50% sensitivity, hoping to fix the issue.

On another trip the whole system fully failed at day 6 (at 5 in the morning so no sunlight issue, also no a/c heating as it was in off mode):

5:11 AM Motion Office, i disabled sensor and alarm back on at 5:15am.

5:34 AM Motion Billiard, disabled as well by 5:37AM

5:38 AM motion upstairs

5:53 AM motion bedroom

5:53 siren activated

5:53 Panic activate, motion bedroom (a second keypad in that room)

5:55 Alarm Monitoring called me, throwing my hands in the air i told them to ignore (as i saw no motion on any of the camera's).

Clearly nothing was actually going on in the house, unless we have a ghost 🙂

Arlo should understand these sensors MUST be reliable, and they are not.

Can you please dm me a callback number as well as a good time to call. That way I can have support look into this further. You send a dm by clicking on the envelope icon on the top right of the forum page.If you don't see it, then go into your profile settings and select preferences, then "Private Messenger." Then select "Turn on private messages" if it is turned off.

I would like to send a private message per:

go into your profile settings and select preferences, then "Private Messenger."

When i click my name i have either "My Profile" or "My Settings", as profile did not give me much options I went to Settings, Preferences, checked all the tabs but I fail to see a "Private Messenger" option.

Help is appreciated (or email me so i can reply by email).

It is supposed to be on that page (and is for my account):

It's possible that you need to make a few more posts before the feature shows up.  @JamesC - can you look into this?

Also, you might double-check that the envelope icon is missing.

Hi Arlo,

As you see from my screenshot the tab "private messages" just before the "kudos" tab was not showing up.

But this has indeed been fixed, I now see the envelope (and passed on my phone# privately).

So hopefully we can now work on the original 'real' problem, that the motions sensors seem quite unreliable.

Understandably having the police come out on a erroneous motion detecting is quite annoying (and gets costly).

How 5 sensors can go off on motion like that with in successively must be a protocol/wifi/software issue, but hopefully:

A. we can come to a fix or replace the sensors.

and

B. come up with a way to test/verify the fix without alerting police

Thank you

Robert
