My Arlo Pro Base Station Three-LED VMB4000  won’t stay connected to internet. I have a Shaw Modem which I connect directly too with Ethernet cable. I have cycle rebooted each. Stays connect for 3 minutes, then disconnects.  Any suggestions?

What do the LEDs show, especially the internet one? Is it possible the ISP is somehow involved? When you say you have a Shaw modem, do you mean a router or modem/router? Normally one wouldn't connect directly to a standalone modem.

Which Shaw modem do you have (I am seeing two when I google):

Did this combination work before? Or did you just install the Shaw Modem?

 

FYI to @jguerdat:  Both of these devices are actually gateways (what you call modem/router) 

When you say it "disconnects", are you meaning to say that the base goes off line?

 

If you are saying that the internet LED goes out on the base, have you

  • checked the LED status on the modem LAN port?
  • looked for the VMB4000 in the attached device list of the modem?

Also, have you tried a different LAN port?  Sometimes a LAN port is dedicated (for instance, intended for a set top box).
