I bought my system years ago and this is absolutely absurd with these ads in my feed. No where did it ever say you had to have a paid subscription or you’d be riddled with ads! These updates are absolutely ridiculous as well. Are you for the customer and the customer safety or your greedy pockets? If these ads aren’t removed I will be getting a new system asap!!!!

These in-app offers have been integrated into the flow of each app screen to avoid any disruption to the user experience. This is now part of our updated native in-app experience. Users who do not want to see these messages can upgrade to an Arlo Secure plan at www.Arlo.com.

Hopefully just banners.  IMO pop-ups add an unacceptable amount of friction, as you need to dismiss them somehow while you are sorting out what triggered the notification.

User hostility to drive sales speaks volumes. The ads re-sort and scroll my view while I'm looking at which ferals came for food today. I don't need a paid plan, I especially refuse to do business with a company that uses dark patterns to drive sales.

I've ordered new gear that actually does what I want. I don't need this. I don't generally bother with forums, but hope is not a strategy for this sort of thing. It's a shame to bin the camera, but it doesn't do the job I bought it for in the first place any longer and the return window is long gone. Paying money to get back original functionality is simply rent seeking, not innovating.

I've been on the legacy app since buying the first edition cameras.

They just FORCED the app to update without my permission or notification yesterday.

It says I'm on a "trial" of some kind but not sure when or what will happen after the trial. I dont need a subscription, never used one. They purposefully and willfully disabled MY product I own putting mine and my family's security and protection at risk.

Offering an upgrade app is one thing. To take away MY app and replace it without permission, making MY gear useless is criminal.

I've filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau, my states Fraud division, and have started a conversation with council to  start an investigation on a class action suit investigating this practice of forced obsolescence and putting people at risk.

I cant afford to buy 5 new cameras and there was absolutely nothing wrong with what I had with the old app.

To align with another posters comment, money first of course, your security last.

Their decision to NOT be able to contact them directly for outside of what THEY want to talk to customers about should make you realize, tjey dont care about your concerns unless it's going to get you to buy something.

Make the legacy app available.

The system reverts to the 7-day free recording you had before.

Can you tell us what stopped working?
