Have not had my camera for more than ONE (1) month.
First battery died within days.
Purchased new battery 4 days ago, now that is almost dead.
Yes both were plugged in.
What to do before I return it?

A couple of things here. First, batteries don't run down that fast without continuous recording and/or live viewing. These are battery-operated and aren't designed for that usage. Describe your usage.
Next, when plugged in you should get a battery icon that shows the outline of the battery with a lightning bolt through it. Do you get that? It sounds like either the charger is bad or wasn't properly plugged in, perhaps at the camera end. Make sure you're using the Netgear/Arlo charger which supplies both 5v and 9v outputs.
