Mounting wing nut

I just mounted 2 cameras and had difficulty with one of them. The wing nut that tights the camera into position won’t tighten well. The other camera mounted fine. Is there a trick I don’t know about or is my mount defective? Can I get a replacement if I need one?

I use a different mount and don't have issues - I can't comment about the supplied mount. Does the nut work propery without the camera installed?
