After a year away from Arlo’s forums, I’m back—unfortunately. A couple of years ago, the subscription debacle convinced me never to buy Arlo again, and I switched to a great local Aussie brand.

But I needed a 4G camera and got sucked in by Arlo’s marketing and price. Big mistake. I bought one yesterday, and it hasn’t worked once—stuck in a firmware update boot loop no matter what I try: deleting/re-adding the device, resetting, reinstalling the app, switching networks, LTE-only, you name it. Status says “all good,” but it’s been looping overnight with no change.

Support is useless—won’t escalate or provide the firmware file so I can try an SD card install.

The forums are still flooded with the same old complaints: broken apps, failed forced updates, subscription headaches, overcharging, missing recordings, lag, and more. I’m returning this thing. Arlo hasn’t changed—they still suck.

Hi

Are you still experiencing this symptom?

Thanks

No - I returned this to the store and got a full refund, so it's somebody else's problem now.  Hopefully they can send it back to you, and you can dispose of this garbage.

I will now attempt to deactivate/delete my Arlo account to prevent me from ever falling into this trap again.

Thanks for the follow up though.  I know it's not your fault this company's products are rubbish.

Thanks for the update. If you do happen to have any future questions, feel free to let me know and we will do our best to assist. Also here is a quick link that should help with deleting your account.
