On a whim the other day, I manually set off the "alarm" siren on my camera system.
I had no idea, I thought that if I set it off on Camera 1, camera 1 would sound.
Well, that was wrong. It sounds every alarm on every camera in your system, lol. I've got one cam in the house, and the other 8 are scattered around my yard outdoors in various locations. The cam in the house is turned off. It sounded anyway. (I don't have any camera set to alarm with my system...no alerts set up)
All of them going off at the same time makes an eerie sound outdoors... I've done it a few time during the day and at odd times in the wee hours of the morning. I bet if there are any people out wandering around in the neighborhood when that happens, they're probably thinking "what in the hell is that?"
I've stood outdoors, in view of the cameras, while setting off the alarm. With me knowing where the camera that's emitting the noise is located, with my set up it's hard to tell where the noise is coming from... it's all encompassing... it's all around you.
It's actually pretty neat.
