My existing Arlo hub is VMB3010r2 and cameras are H11 and H7’s which are reaching end of life. I purchased the essential spotlight 3 camera kit and the unlimited camera plan. My new cameras are not compatible with my old hub.
the application won’t let me install the new cameras because they are not compatible with the old hub. So do I have to remove all my existing hardware before I can connect the new cameras via wifi?
Without the hub will the application function differently? Is there a good video out there that will show me how to deinstall the old hardware and then walk me through the install of my new cameras?

The Essential cameras can connect directly to your WiFi instead of to a base or hub, if that's useful. Otherwise, you'd need to purchase a new SmartHub to connect all devices to.

You don't need to remove anything to allow the cameras to WiFi - just choose to NOT connect to your base when installing. They will show up individually in the Mode tab along with your old base so it will be a bit different setting up modes and schedules.

For the record, the EOL cameras will still work fine for the foreseeable future so the new cameras aren't really needed if you're happy with your current setup. Eventually, new software and hardware may phase the old system out but there's no timeline for that, if it even happens.

Thank you for your reply I didn’t notice a way to continue the install without connecting to my hub. One more question for you if I remove my old hub and camera will it change how I manage my schedule and the new cameras?  I’m wanting to simplify and manage my new devices as I did the older ones if possible.

For the time being not much will change although you will need to manage your new cameras separately since they're not connected to a hub or base. Just be aware that a new user interface (UI) is being phased in and you will be migrated to that at some point. You might want to migrate now and get the pain over with (the new UI does the same things but in a totally new way). If you choose to do that, tell the app to install a Pro 5 or security system even though you don't have one. Once the migration is complete, back out of the bogus installation. Set some time aside to go through the whole app to understand what changed and how to work with it.
