I was told I can't us it with my original base that has Netgear on it. I have to buy a new hub or connect to wifi. The lag with wifi is awful, there is a good 10-12 sec delay for audio and video.  Can anyone help me with this?

Not sure what base you have but it only works on newer bases. Here is a link for what is compatible with each camera.
