Hi,

I have the arlo essentials wireless cameras and the VMB4540 Smarthub. I don't have a subscription plan, and just want to use the local storage via USB and direct storage access features.

I'm not sure why videos aren't successfully storing on the USB, and I'm also unable to view the direct storage, despite following the steps on arlo's websites. Some things I've already done:

  • turned on record locally and view recordings
  • using a 64GB USB (>32GB needed), with FAT32 formatting
  • local storage settings says storage status is "good"
  • when ejecting, using "safely eject local storage" option and waiting a while until ejecting
  • tried power cycling the Smarthub (unplugging and replugging power adaptor)
  • ensured access to local network in "Settings" for arlo secure app

When trying to access direct access storage, my Feed just states "you've found a premium feature" and I can't access it. Nothing comes up when I press "storage settings" of my Smarthub.

They won't show up in "Feed", and you can't access them from my.arlo.com.  But you should see them in the storage settings for the base when using the app.

When you put the microSD card in the PC, did you see any recordings on it?  (That will tell us if the issue is recording or playback).
