I have an Arlo Essentials monitoring my parking lot. I set it up a few days ago and it seems to work ok except for a couple of issues. First, I set smart notifications to just people, but I’m seeing recording in my library of vehicles as well.

secondly, and more concerning is I got an alert that it detected a person. When I went to the library to view it, the video was over 5 minutes long and there were no people in it. Obviously this isn’t great for the battery. Is there some setting I haven’t activated to prevent these long recordings? Thanks

You can set recording duration to a fixed length, or "until motion stops". Go in the armed mode for the camera, then then edit it, so you can access the rule for the camera. The recording length setting (and motion sensitivity) are in there.
