I'm really struggling to set up our new security camera.
It's for my mums house and I will have the app on my phone as she's only got an old Nokia
I've gone onto my BT Internet settings and made sure that it's connecting to the 2.4ghz
So that should be fine.
I've tried everything!
Uninstalling and redownloading the app.
Forgetting the WiFi on my phone
Staying close to the camera with my phone near the wifi
Moving away from my phone with the camera etc.
All passwords being entered correctly.
Nothing is working!
Any hints or tips gratefully received before I launch it 😂

The first thing - you need to choose Essential Spotlight in "add device".  If you choose Essential, it won't work.  (Similarly, you need to choose Essential if you don't have the model with the spotlight).

 

I'd try onboarding it from a PC (assuming she has one) next.  Connect the PC with ethernet to the router if you can.

 

Also, double-check the router's security settings.  The cameras need it to be set to WPA2 (AES).  Punctuation in the network name and password can sometimes interfere with onboarding, so you might need to change those (which of course is a pain)
