It seems to fail a lot when you accept the invite on the phone or tablet.
Instead try clicking on the "create account" link in the invite email on a PC. That will open your browser to my.arlo.com. If the account already exists, just log in, and that should accept the invite. If the account does not exist, then of course create it.

I've been having the same issues. Tried to grant access to two people. We did did the web only approach and the invite via. web as mentioned. What I notice is when I look at my web interface it still looks like the green logo and nothing related to arlo secure. But when I visit my son's (one of the users I'm trying to grant access for) I see a totally different interface, navy blue color, Arlo Secure logo.
Are we experiencing the migration from old Arlo to Arlo Secure?

Sounds like it. This post might be useful:
But migrating to Feed can't be undone, so keep that in mind if you try it.

Hi thanks @StephenB I followed the advice in the link to covert over my account to be the new Arlo Secure.
This was painful as my previous account had two different base stations (one for each house) Now I have to convert everything into the new paradigm where you have "locations" each location could be a different base station and you can arm or dis-arm only at the location level now.
