Our cameras don't last more than a couple days without having to charge again. Is this normal?

For minimum usage you should have at least three months before recharging is required.
For heavy usage you might get a week.
My pro2 Cameras gives me a month charge with 50 recording events (10sec) a day, unless I get the 5m5s recording bug.
As a test stick the camera in a dark closet to see how quickly the camera battery lasts.

Can you estimate how many minutes of recording the cameras are doing every day? If you use activity zones, you will need to remove them for a day or so to make this estimate.
